When can I start to receive super?
Your employer contributes to your super if you are:
- 18 years old or over, and earn $450 or more (before tax) per month
- under 18 years old and working 30 plus hours a week, and earn $450 or more (before tax) per month
You’re eligible for super you if work casually, part-time or full-time, and even if you are a temporary resident. You may also be eligible if you are a contractor who is paid primarily for labour, even if you have an Australian business number (ABN).
