What are ’employer contributions’ or the ‘Super Guarantee’?

Employers are legally required to pay super which may be on top of your base salary or included as part of your total salary. They make contributions directly into a super account on your behalf, these contributions are called the Super Guarantee. If you don’t choose your own fund, your employer will nominate one on your behalf.
